Andra Day's parents are Cassie and Ronald Day. Cassie is African American and Ronald is of Filipino descent. They raised Andra in San Diego, California where she discovered her love for music and began singing in church at a young age. Andra has credited her parents for their support and encouragement in pursuing her passion for music, and her relationship with them has been a source of inspiration for her songwriting.
